1. Acceptance of Terms
By enrolling in any course at Institute of Open and Distance Education (IODE) and using our website and services, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Eligibility
By enrolling with IODE, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years old
- You meet the eligibility criteria for your chosen program
- All information provided during enrollment is accurate and truthful
- You have the legal right to enter into this agreement
3. Enrollment and Course Policies
- Enrollment: Enrollment is final upon successful payment and document verification
- Course Duration: Students have the flexibility to study at their own pace within the prescribed duration
- Minimum Duration: Courses must be completed within the minimum prescribed period
- Maximum Duration: Extensions may be requested beyond the standard duration at additional cost
4. Fee Payment and Refund Policy
- Payment Terms: All fees must be paid as per the agreed payment schedule
- Refund Policy: Refund requests must be submitted within 15 days of enrollment. After this period, fees are non-refundable
- Partial Refund: If refund is claimed after course commencement, only 50% of fees will be refunded
- No Refund: After 50% of course completion, no refund will be provided
- Late Payment: Late payment fees may apply if not paid as per schedule
5. Academic Policies
- Attendance: Students must participate in required assessments and examinations
- Academic Integrity: All work must be original. Plagiarism, cheating, and academic dishonesty will result in disciplinary action
- Examinations: Final examinations are mandatory and must be taken at designated examination centers
- Grading: Grades are based on continuous evaluation and final examinations as per course guidelines
- Transcript Release: Academic transcripts are released after all fees are paid
6. Course Materials and Intellectual Property
All course materials, lectures, videos, documents, and content provided by IODE are protected intellectual property. You may use these materials solely for educational purposes. Any reproduction, distribution, or commercial use without written permission is prohibited.
7. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Engage in any form of harassment or discrimination
- Post or transmit offensive, abusive, or defamatory content
- Attempt to access unauthorized areas of the platform
- Disrupt or interfere with the normal operation of the services
- Use the platform for illegal or fraudulent activities
- Sell, trade, or transfer course access to others
8. Technical Requirements
Students are responsible for maintaining adequate technical infrastructure including:
- A reliable internet connection (minimum 2 Mbps recommended)
- Compatible device (laptop, desktop, or tablet)
- Updated web browser and security software
- Sufficient storage space for course materials
IODE is not responsible for technical issues on your end or internet service disruptions.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, IODE shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of data or information
- Technical failures or service interruptions
- Any damages arising from your use of the services
10. Termination
IODE reserves the right to:
- Suspend or terminate student access for violation of these terms
- Remove students who engage in misconduct or academic dishonesty
- Discontinue courses or programs with appropriate notice
11. Certification and Degrees
Upon successful completion of a program, students will receive a certificate or degree from IODE. The validity and recognition of this certification are subject to applicable regulations and the student meeting all requirements including payment of all dues.
12. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms & Conditions shall be governed by applicable laws. Both parties agree to attempt resolution through negotiation before pursuing legal action.
13. Changes to Terms
IODE reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of the services after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
